Sustainability is becoming a defining factor in how buildings are designed, operated, and future proofed. Our Sustainability Report 2025 highlights the progress being made - and more importantly, what it means for customers seeking high-performing, efficient, and future-ready sustainable HVAC solutions and indoor air quality solutions.
Delivering sustainable HVAC solutions for the evolving needs of modern-day buildings.
Whether you’re an HVAC engineer, property developer, facility manager or designer, this update offers clear and actionable insights into how we are helping the industry, and its many stakeholders meet the high demands of today’s performance standards.
Key insights at a glance
FläktGroup’s Sustainability Report 2025 highlights how sustainability is being translated into practical, measurable outcomes—supporting better building performance, improved transparency, and smarter lifecycle decisions for customers across the HVAC industry.
- Operational emissions are being actively reduced through increased use of renewable energy and more efficient energy sourcing
- Transparent product data is becoming standard, with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) rapidly expanding across the portfolio
- Lifecycle thinking is driving efficiency gains, with retrofit and service solutions delivering up to 30% energy savings
- Indoor air quality solutions remain a core priority, ensuring healthier, safer, and compliant building environments
- Continuous investment in safety and skills strengthens reliability, supporting consistent delivery and long-term partnerships
1. Driving lower emissions through smarter operations
Reducing operational impact is a critical part of delivering more sustainable buildings and in 2025 we made some measurable progress in this area.
- Emissions linked to electricity use reduced by 30%, driven by increased use of renewable energy
- 40% of total energy now comes from renewable sources (up from 28% in 2024)
- Clear climate targets introduced, including a 42% reduction in emissions from operations and energy use by 2030 (Scope 1 and 2)
This progress is driven by improved energy sourcing, operational efficiency and a long-term transition to 100% renewable electricity across all manufacturing sites by 2030.
What this means for you: You gain access to partners and solutions aligned with carbon reduction targets and evolving regulatory frameworks.

2. Enabling better decisions with transparent product data
One of the biggest shifts in the industry is the growing need for transparent, comparable product data and that can be found in our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). In 2025 we significantly expanded our EPDs:
- EPDs now represent 59% of total revenue (up from 2% in 2024)
- Target to reach 95% product coverage by 2026
- Continued investment in lifecycle analysis and product-level emissions data
EPDs provide verified insight into environmental impact across the full product lifecycle, supporting green building certifications, procurement requirements and design decisions.
What this means for you: You can specify sustainable HVAC solutions with confidence backed by credible data for compliance report and project approvals. And you can see all our EPD certified products directly here:
3. Supporting energy efficiency across the building lifecycle
Sustainability doesn’t just stop at installation, the performance across the entire lifecycle is critical. Our Service team led approach is helping customers extend system life and reduce energy demand:
- Retrofit and lifecycle services deliver energy savings of up to 30%
- Increased focus on maintenance, upgrades and digital monitoring
- Expansion of circular solutions
By improving existing systems rather than replacing them, customers can achieve faster carbon and cost reductions.
What this means for you: More efficient systems, lower operational costs and reduced environmental impact across the entire building lifecycle. Want to know if your system qualifies for retrofit? Read this article:

4. Improving indoor environments with high-performance solutions
As performance standards rise, so does the importance of indoor air quality solutions. We continue to prioritise systems that can deliver clean, safe and efficient indoor environments. Catering to commercial buildings to critical environments like healthcare and data centres.
- Focus on high-efficiency ventilation and filtration
- Integration of smart controls and monitoring
- Solutions designed to meet strict regulatory and safety requirements
What this means for you: You can deliver healthier, more compliant buildings while balancing energy performance and occupant comfort.
5. Strengthening safety, skills and organisational resilience
Sustainability also means building a strong, safe and capable organisation. We’ve demonstrated this through our progress in workplace safety:
- Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) reduced from 31 to 18 year on year
- Strengthened global safety standards and reporting practices
- Continued investment in leadership, skills and employee development
These improvements support long-term reliability across operations and service delivery.
What this means for you: A more resilient partner, with consistent quality, safety and expertise across global projects. In fact, we have over a decade of experience in the HVAC industry, you can read more about our history and expertise here:

Looking ahead: Scaling impact through innovation
Our 2025 progress is part of a much broader journey, which is being accelerated by our integration with Samsung Electronics. Looking forward, our key priorities include:
- Expanding EPD coverage to 95% of products by revenue by 2026
- Advancing digital integrated controls for smarter energy control
- Designing products with circular economy principles
- Preparing for upcoming and new European regulations including CSRD and ESRS
- Continuing to innovate in areas such as data centre cooling and lifecycle optimisation
Delivering performance and sustainability together
At its very core, the Sustainability Report 2025 reinforces a simple message:
Sustainability is no longer a future ambition; it is the practical requirement for modern building performance.
By combining transparency, innovation and lifecycle thinking, we continue to deliver sustainable HVAC solutions and indoor air quality solutions that help customers meet today’s demands and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.
David Dorney, CEO at FläktGroup, summarises our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility:
“Reducing environmental impact, keeping people safe and operating transparently are no longer ‘nice to haves’—they are fundamental requirements of responsible companies and leaders. At FläktGroup, we are proud of the strong progress we have made in sustainability over the past 24 months, and of the clear direction our climate targets now provide. At the same time, our customers and partners operate in very different contexts. It is therefore our responsibility to deliver sustainability value that is meaningful for their specific industries and business realities. This focus will continue to guide our everyday work as we move forward.”
