“Project GAGAN”- FläktGroup’s New Pune Facility to Create a World-Class HVAC Manufacturing Hub Supporting Data Centre Growth.

FläktGroup, a global leader in energy-efficient indoor air and critical cooling solutions, today announced a major expansion of its manufacturing footprint in India through Project GAGAN, a new state-of-the-art production facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The investment marks a significant milestone in FläktGroup’s long-term growth strategy in the region and underscores its commitment to supporting India’s fast-growing data centre and industrial sectors.

Building the Next Chapter of FläktGroup India

With an investment of €5.7 million, the new Pune facility includes a modern 13,826 square metre shop floor, with over 12,000 square metres dedicated to production and additional space for offices, engineering and support functions. Once fully ramped up, the plant will have the capacity to manufacture up to 6,500 units annually, including:

  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Fan Wall Units (FWUs)
  • CRAH and CRAC units
  • Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
  • Heating and cooling coils

The new facility will serve both domestic and international markets, enabling FläktGroup to respond faster to customer demand across India, Asia and the South-East Asia (SEA) region, while maintaining global quality and performance standards.

Strategic Location to Support High-Growth Markets

Pune was selected for its strategic position at the heart of India’s rapidly expanding data centre and green energy ecosystem. Its proximity to major industrial corridors and ports strengthens supply chain agility, supports rapid deployment for hyperscalers and industrial customers, and enhances FläktGroup’s ability to scale sustainably.

“Project GAGAN is more than a factory investment—it is a strategic capability build that positions FläktGroup for the next phase of growth in India and beyond,” said David Dorney, CEO, FläktGroup. “Pune gives us the right ecosystem, talent access and infrastructure to serve high-growth, technology-driven markets reinforcing our global manufacturing network.”

Focus on Capability, Culture and Talent

Beyond infrastructure, Project GAGAN places strong emphasis on capability multiplication and culture replication. FläktGroup has implemented a structured hiring and training programme, including immersive exposure at its global headquarters and existing Indian facilities, hands-on manufacturing training, and clear role alignment supported by standard operating procedures and systems training.

This approach ensures that the new Pune plant operates in full alignment with FläktGroup’s global values, quality standards and innovation culture from day one.

Strengthening FläktGroup’s Commitment to India

Project GAGAN reinforces FläktGroup’s long-term commitment to India as a key manufacturing and innovation hub within its global operations. By expanding local capacity and capabilities, the company aims to support customers with faster lead times, enhanced customization, and locally manufactured solutions designed to meet the demands of next-generation data centres and sustainable infrastructure.

The plant is scheduled to become fully operational by June 2026.
