Unified Control for Simplified Handling
With ISYteq 4.0 as a unified control platform across the entire eQ range and other selected AHUs, on-site handling has never been easier.
Quick Setup and Maximum Performance
Pre-configured for fast installation, ISYteq 4.0 is specifically developed for FläktGroup units to ensure peak energy efficiency and superior comfort.
The risks of operating without modern and powerful AHU controls
Without a modern purpose-built factory fitted control system, air handling systems often suffer from inefficient energy use, inconsistent indoor climate, and a lack of seasonal adaptability. This can lead to higher operating costs, uncomfortable conditions for occupants, and increased wear on components due to suboptimal operation.
Additionally, older or basic control systems typically lack advanced monitoring and diagnostics, making it harder to identify abnormal conditions early and avoid costly downtime. Integration with Building Management Systems becomes complex and expensive, and compliance with modern energy efficiency standards may be compromised, putting sustainability goals and regulatory requirements at risk.
ISYteq 4.0: the intelligent answer to modern AHU challenges
To overcome the inefficiencies, comfort issues, and compliance risks of outdated control systems, FläktGroup developed ISYteq 4.0 - a unified, intelligent control platform designed for selection FläktGroup Air Handling Units.
ISYteq 4.0 optimises energy use, adapts seamlessly to seasonal variations, and ensures precise indoor climate control for maximum comfort, transforming AHU management into a smarter, more efficient, and future-ready process.
ISYteq’s quick connectors mean it’s easier and quicker to assemble a sectional unit reducing installation and set up costs.
Save Time and Money on Installation
Choosing FläktGroup AHUs with ISYteq 4.0 ensures a smooth, efficient installation process.
Smart, Hygienic Design
All control components are integrated via a bus system, with cables routed out of the casing using the shortest possible path to external quick connectors.
This approach offers several advantages:
- Optimised hygiene – minimal wiring is exposed to the air stream
- Less wiring work – fewer cables mean faster installation
- Tool‑free assembly – sectional AHUs can be put together without specialist tools
- No complex setup – no programming or rewiring is required on site.
Significant Time and Cost Savings
Installing controls on site typically requires at least one full day per unit, and technician labour can cost around €1000 per day.
By choosing factory‑fitted controls, you benefit from:
- Lower labour costs
- Reduced installation time
- Higher quality and consistency from a controlled factory environment
Lower Installation Risk
On‑site installation often presents challenges:
- Equipment rooms may be difficult to access or work in
- Sensors and cables risk being installed in incorrect positions
- On‑site conditions generally make installation slower and more expensive
Factory‑installed controls eliminate these risks and deliver a reliable, ready‑to‑operate solution.

How does AHU control enable more energy efficient design and indoor air quality?
Intelligent AHU (Air Handling Unit) control plays a crucial role in achieving both energy efficiency and optimal indoor air quality. By intelligently managing airflow, temperature, and pressure, these systems reduce energy consumption while maintaining a healthy and comfortable environment. Below are five key examples of how AHU control enables smarter, more sustainable building design:
- Energy efficiency is a key feature of advanced frost protection function for plate heat exchangers and rotors.
- Automatic pressure balancing allows rotary heat exchangers to be used in applications where they are not normally used. This results in more efficient energy recovery and, at the same time, prevents leakage of extract air into the supply air.
- Active mixing enables the control of recirculated air in units with a negative-pressure exhaust fan (e.g. the eQ Prime) as part of the temperature control sequence. This reduces the load on the heating or cooling coils. The minimum outdoor air limitation function ensures that the required amount of fresh air is always delivered. The amount of mixing can also be limited by an air quality sensor as an optional extra.
- Density compensation ensures the correct supply and extract airflow irrespective of the outdoor temperature which reduces fan electrical consumption.
- For buildings simulated using dynamic building energy and indoor climate simulation software, the optimal supply air temperature as a function of outdoor air temperature is available. This transfer function can be entered directly into the ISYteq 4.0 system as a 10-breakpoint curve.
- The fan speed can be configured to form part of the temperature control sequence in various ways. This ensures that more heating and cooling is distributed to the premises when needed. Alternatively, fan energy can be saved during spring and autumn without compromising the indoor air temperature.
What components are typically managed by ISYteq 4.0 AHU control system?
Typically, all components in the air handling unit (AHU) are controlled, including fans, filters, dampers, energy recovery systems, coils and humidifiers. However, the ISYteq 4.0 system can also control associated fans, separate temperature zones, and primary heating and cooling water circuits for chilled beams and fan coils. Together with freely configurable alarm inputs, this could eliminate the need for third-party controls in simple buildings.
How do you validate your software functions and ensure long-term reliability?
We use a combination of rigorous testing and advanced digital simulation to validate every software function. Digital simulation is particularly effective for analysing individual functions and their interactions over time, including seasonal variations. In fact, we’ve simulated the equivalent of over 35 years of usage, which gives us strong confidence in the exceptional quality and durability of our product.
What is required for commissioning and calibration of ISYteq 4.0?
Firstly, the unit must be connected to the mains supply. All components supplied with the unit must be installed and connected. Any coils must also be connected (water or DX). The commissioning technician must be provided with the desired setpoints and operating schedules. Commissioning can then be carried out using either the ISYteq Touch 7.1 touch panel or an ordinary computer with a web browser.
How does ISYteq 4.0 AHU control help meet energy efficiency standards?
ISYteq 4.0 is already now ready for different types of demand-controlled ventilation. It can also continuously monitor and log indoor air quality and various energy parameters (e.g. the electrical power supplied to the fans).
Does the ISYteq 4.0 system provide alerts or diagnostics for faults?
As well as providing more standardised alarms for malfunctioning components, fire alarms and freeze protection, ISYteq 4.0 monitors all sensors, controlled values and communication issues. For more advanced diagnosis, log data can easily be exported for analysis in Excel, for example.
Can the ISYteq 4.0 AHU control system be upgraded or expanded?
ISYteq 4.0 comes with standard software, enabling more functions to be activated and the system to be easily expanded on site if needed.
Is remote monitoring and control possible with ISYteq 4.0?
Modbus and BACnet for communication to BMS are always included as standard. Configuration unique object and tag list can easily be generated and downloaded directly from the DDC on site. The ISYteq 4.0 web interface be accessed from any web browser having access to the DDC.
