FläktGroup at DCD Connect London: Driving Innovation in Data Centre Cooling
Published
FläktGroup was proud to attend DCD Connect London, one of the UK’s premier events for data centre professionals. Held annually, DCD Connect brings together industry leaders, innovators, and solution providers to explore the future of digital infrastructure.

Connecting with Industry Leaders
We had a fantastic time engaging with fellow professionals, discussing the latest trends shaping the data centre landscape, and sharing insights into how FläktGroup is supporting customers to meet the evolving demands of high-performance cooling. The conversations we had were both inspiring and insightful, and we’re grateful to everyone who stopped by our stand.
Mohamed Ashok, our Business Development Director, attended DCD Connect London, engaging with industry leaders and showcasing our cutting-edge cooling technology. Here he shares his thoughts on the event:
“As expected, DCD-Connect was very well attended. We were able to connect with multiple key stakeholders, decision makers and influencers from across the DC Ecosystem. There were some interesting products on display, but selfishly I would claim that our Liquid-DENCO CDU was the pick of the lot.”
When asked about his key takeaway from DCD Connect London, Mohamed offered a forward-looking perspective on the data centre industry and our role within it:
“The DC industry is set for unprecedented growth in the coming years, and we as a Global DC Cooling solution provider need to keep pace with the ever-evolving demands of the market. We have done a good job so far covering all facets of datahall cooling with our Air and Liquid cooling portfolio, coupled with our expertise in project delivery and aftermarket service capabilities. Scaling up to meet the growing needs of our customers is key to ensuring continued success.”
Among the many insightful discussions at DCD Connect London, one theme really stood out for Mohamed, and that was the importance of taking a lifecycle approach to data centre projects. From talent gaps and power availability to the transformative impact of liquid cooling, the event covered a wide array of challenges and innovations. But for Mohamed, the standout moment came from within the FläktGroup team itself:
“There were quite a few interesting and diverse topics being discussed across the event, such as the talent gap in the industry, Liquid cooling and how it is fundamentally changing design of Data Centres, Challenges of power availability, and so on. But again, from my perspective, I felt our very own Jonas Caino did a great job addressing the industry's need for an equipment supplier such as FläktGroup to undertake a lifecycle approach when it comes to executing a data centre project. This is one of our unique specialties at FläktGroup. We don't just push boxes, we ensure that the products and solutions we deliver are installed, commissioned and handed over seamlessly. Michelle Meeder’s (Director of Data Centre Global Accounts) team plays a pivotal role in this execution phase, and this strengthens our position with our customers as not just a product supplier, but a true end-to-end partner.”
Meet the Team
We were represented by a passionate and knowledgeable team from FläktGroup, including:
- Trevor Young, CEO
- Dave Dorney, Chief Sales Officer
- Yan Evans, Director, Data Centre Global Accounts
- Jonas Caino, Global Business Development Director
- Mohamed Ashok, Global Business Development Director
- John Woollett, Product Manager
Additionally, we were delighted to welcome our new colleague Marc Hayes, EVP Data Centres AMER, to the event. Marc recently joined the FläktGroup family and is now leading our Data Centre function across the Americas.
Jonas Caino Presents: De-Risking Data Centre Supply Chains
At the event, Jonas Caino, EMEA Business Development Director at FläktGroup, shared valuable insights with his presentation entitled ‘De-Risking the Supply Chain in Data Centre Builds Across EMEA’.
His presentation focused on several key themes, highlighting how the AI boom is shifting data centre challenges from silicon to infrastructure. With rack densities doubling, the real risk lies in supply chain resilience, particularly around cooling systems.
The EMEA region is experiencing rapid expansion: capacity grew 21% year-on-year to 10.3 GW operational in H1 2025, with 2.6 GW under construction and 11.5 GW in planning. However, extended lead times for cooling equipment—12 to 18 months—are threatening delivery schedules. In fact, 70% of European executives and investors believe that unless construction supply chain constraints are addressed, Europe will fall behind in AI.
FläktGroup’s response is “multi-path supply,” leveraging Samsung’s global manufacturing scale and diversification alongside FläktGroup’s 14+ production sites and extensive EMEA distribution network. This model ensures dual-sourcing resilience, localised assembly and service, and access to highly skilled engineering and project management teams. By reducing dependence on single-region manufacturing, operators gain confidence in delivery and project timelines.
The presentation concluded that cooling demand will continue rising while supply remains constrained. Strategic options include standardisation, modularisation, digitalisation, and securing supply. FläktGroup positions itself as a trusted partner delivering global scale with local delivery.
