Smart control is no longer optional—it’s essential. Buildings now must deliver consistent indoor air quality, lower energy consumption and flexibility as indoor spaces continue to be reconfigured more than ever. FläktGroup’s ISYteq 3060 brings intelligence to chilled beams with Modbus RTU connectivity and demand-controlled ventilation, delivering comfort, energy savings, and flexibility for modern spaces.
Why chilled beams need a smart room controller
Chilled beams are brilliant at delivering quiet, draft-free comfort with low energy use, especially in offices, hotels and healthcare facilities. But you’re only getting the minimal results they give you if you do not have a smart room controller. The full potential of your chilled beam system is fulfilled when you pair it with a smart room controller. There will be no elephant in the room in the shape of CO2 spikes, condensation risk and uneven temperatures with this controller. It will be able to read the room to coordinate fresh air and water-side control at the beam and communicate to your building management system (BMS). In active chilled beams designs, precise humidity and dew-point control is essential to avoid any condensation. So, the only elephant in the room will be the one relaxing in perfect comfort.
Applications where comfort counts
Where there is progress, change is inevitable and the age of the modern building is taking shape. Our indoor spaces are being used more dynamically than ever before. We’ve got meeting rooms that overflow during workshops, hotel rooms that sit empty for hours, classrooms that fill and empty in minutes, and healthcare rooms that require strict airflow needs. That’s a lot of pressure for our buildings to handle. And that’s why smarter more responsive control is becoming essential for buildings. We want to help alleviate the pressure.
ISYteq 3060 supports this by helping chilled beams and ventilation systems adapt to real conditions in real time to ensure comfort, efficiency and healthier air wherever it’s needed most.
- Offices – Tackling CO2 spikes and overcrowding
We’ve all been in an office that has been too hot, and nobody wants to sit in a tropical rainforest when working. This is particularly the case for meeting rooms, which often exceed their design occupancy during workshops or presentation causing CO2 levels to rise quickly. Smarter control becomes essential here.
That’s where a system like ISYteq 3060 helps by allowing chilled beams to respond to what’s happening within the room. It automatically activates a boost air VAV damper to deliver extra fresh air while maintaining temperature stability. This ensures healthy air quality without sacrificing comfort. And that’s why it’s smart.
- Hotels – Energy waste in vacant rooms
Comfort is so important in hotels so it is a given that you will want a comforting indoor air quality to be maintained consistently. But there is also another important factor to consider and that is the energy usage. Guest rooms consume energy even when unoccupied, especially if ventilation and chilled beams run continuously, which they often do in hotels.
Integrated scheduling and presence/key-card sensors allow ISYteq 3060 to reduce airflow and water-side energy when rooms are empty. When guests return, the chilled beams quickly restore comfort. Now that’s smart and even more smart when you think about the amount of energy you will be cutting without having to compromise guest comfort.
- Schools – Uneven temperatures and solar gain
Classrooms and lecture halls often suffer from uneven temperatures due to solar gain near windows or drafts near doors. Occupancy can often swing from empty to full in minutes too which, creates spikes in CO2 and heat load. Traditional HVAC systems subsequently struggle to maintain consistent comfort without wasting energy.
Integrated with chilled beams, ISYteq 3060 uses demand-controlled ventilation to match airflow to real occupancy and CO2 levels. This helps to ensure healthy air quality without overcooling, which is essential for learning environments.
- Healthcare facilities – Pressure imbalances and indoor air quality
Maintaining a correct airflow and pressure is essential for environments that need to maintain a level for comfort but also compliance as well. This is particularly the case for rooms where healthcare is taking place. Over-pressure or under pressure can compromise safety in such environments so it is essential to ensure the right balance between the supply and extract air.
By managing both boost and extract VAV dampers, ISYteq 3060 ensures local room balancing. Combined with chilled beams, this delivers precise temperature control and stable pressure supporting hygiene and patient comfort.
And here is that smart room controller, the one you’ve been dreaming of, ISYteq 3060.

ISYteq 3060 overview
When it comes to chilled beam control, ISYteq 3060 combines smart features with practical benefits to simplify installation, improve comfort and cut energy costs. Here’s what makes it stands out:
- Smart room controller + demand-controlled ventilation: Adjust airflow based on occupancy for optimal comfort and reduced energy use. The system manages the operation through the built-in scheduler and the use of a presence sensor or key-card switch.
- Integrated control: Seamlessly manages chilled beams and VAV dampers for a complete solution. Manages the PI function of the chilled beam in conjunction with demand-controlled ventilation to save energy
- Optimised PI control: By combining the PI function with demand‑controlled ventilation, ISYteq 3060 can deliver up to 80% energy savings in the ventilation system. Airflow is reduced to just 6 l/s in vacant rooms, then automatically increased when occupancy or CO₂ levels rise—ensuring healthy indoor air quality without wasting energy. When rooms become crowded, airflow is boosted again to maintain comfort. This showcases how the PI actuator and DCV work together intelligently without needing complex configuration
- Smart scheduling: Automatically minimises ventilation during weekends, holidays and building closures helping to save energy during times where there are minimal occupants
- Two-way communication: Enhances user experience with real-time interaction between client and server, ensuring seamless coordination of chilled beams and VAV dampers. This flexibility allows quick adjustments and smooth integration with building layouts
- Flexible control: ISYteq 3060 can be configured as either a client or server. This means future renovations or space reconfigurations don’t require costly rewiring or new hardware – simply switch roles in the network and maintain control without disruption
- Fast installation: With the RJ45 connectors built into the controller, connection times are reduced to less than a third of the time. We have also included a range of pictograms, which makes cabling even faster and more efficient
- 9 Chilled beams in a network: A network of 9 chilled beams (1 client and up to 8 servers) can be linked together with the client controlling the room/zone. With this networked approach it ensures consistent comfort across larger spaces while reducing complexity and installation time compared to standalone systems
- Power made simple: ISYteq 3060 uses a 24 VAC/120 VA low voltage transformer to power up to nine controllers, sensors and the network from a single source. It thus eliminates the need for a specialist electrician, reducing installation costs and complexity. The transformer also comes with a standard European plug making the connection as simple as plugging into a standard socket
How Modbus RTU + BACnet MS/TP fit your BMS strategy?
ISYteq 3060 utilises Modbus RTU communication protocol for the internal network, and either Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP for connection to a BMS. This means you can:
- Integrate with existing BMS standards without gateways
- Read zone-level points (temperatures, CO2, airflow rates, valve positions) and write overrides (setpoints, schedules, boost commands) as needed
- Maintain a simple physical layer that installers already know – keeping costs down and reliability high.
ISYteq GO is hot to go
Our smart room controller also has Bluetooth on board, so connection via our ISYteqGO app is available on Android or iPhone for you to use.
The APP reduces set-up and commissioning time quite dramatically, even for an experienced installer. A single beam can be up and operational in less than 5 minutes with app, making commissioning quick and easy. Setpoints, parameter settings, and on/off timing in the schedule can all be completed remotely underneath the chilled beam.
ISYteq GO can also be used by the building users to allow them to manage the indoor climate within the parameter setpoints. The access can be provided from a QR code that can be scanned by the individual. This means costs on projects can be reduced by the removal of the HMI.
Additional benefits:
- Intuitive interface: Our app provides a user-friendly dashboard for installers and building occupants, reducing training time and errors
- Remote diagnostics: Installers can troubleshoot and adjust settings without accessing the ceiling, saving time and improving safety

Dew point problem solved without switching the beam off
One extra special element we have added to our new smart room controller with chilled beams is the dew point calculation. Unlike other controllers, which switch off the chilled beams to prevent an indoor rain shower, the ISYteq 3060 monitors and calculates the dew point zone. When this becomes an issue, the controller makes a request for an increase in the inlet water temperature to prevent the indoor rainfall, but also without having to switch off the chilled beam.
| Humidity | |
| RH Control Setpoint (%) | 50.0 |
| RH Control Value (%) | 0.0 |
| Dew Point Temperature (°c) | 0.0 |
Example of how the calculation will be displayed on the ISYteq Go app
